Lucknow : The Sports Authority of India (SAI), National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) Lucknow, and King George Medical University (KGMU) had inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the healthcare services for athletes.
Under this MoU, a distinguished team of doctors from KGMU, led by Dr. Abhishek Agarwal, Head of the Sports Medicine Department, KGMU, Dr. Purushottam Gandhi, Senior resident and fellow, Department of Sports Medicine and Injury,
KGMU along with Dr. Abhishek Saini, Assistant Professor, Department of sport medicine and injury, KGMU, visited SAI NCOE Lucknow.
During the visit, the launch of Athletes Medical Cards for NCOE Lucknow athletes was done by the Regional Director Incharge, Sh. Atma Prakash and, Dr. Abhishek Agarwal, Head of the Sports Medicine Department, KGMU further underscoring the commitment to athlete welfare and medical care.
As part of their engagement, the medical experts interacted closely with the athletes of NCOE Lucknow, fostering a deeper understanding of their healthcare needs and concerns. The visit also included a comprehensive tour of facilities,
including Field of Play (FOPs) and Sports Science infrastructure, underscoring the commitment to providing world-class amenities to athletes.

Moreover, the interaction extended to include the physiotherapy and medical section staff fostering a collaborative approach towards athlete healthcare and rehabilitation.
