Dr. P.T. Usha Meets NSF and SOA Dignitaries at Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium, Dehradun

Dr. P.T. Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), visited the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium today for a special meeting with the dignitaries of State Olympic Associations (SOA) and National Sports Federations (NSF).

The meeting also saw the presence of members from various IOA sub-committees and the Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), highlighting a collaborative effort towards strengthening India’s sporting framework.

The event commenced with Mr. Madhukant Pathak, Chairman of the Coordination Committee, extending his warm welcome to the dignitaries and an opening of the stage to discussions. Expressing their gratitude, the dignitaries extended their support to Dr. P.T. Usha for her leadership and contributions to Indian sports.

In response, Dr. Usha expressed her appreciation for their continued cooperation and dedication to the success of national sporting events. Another prominent topic discussed in the meeting was the outcome of the on-going, 38th National Games.

Dr. Usha praised Uttarakhand both for its hospitality toward the participants and for successful conduct of the Games while also emphasizing that the state must continue to promote a sports culture.

Another matter discussed during the session was some challenges faced during the conduct of the event, with the dignitaries exchanging views and solutions for future editions.

As a token of appreciation, the dignitaries presented mementos and gifts to Dr. Usha. Ms. Sunaina Kumari, Chairperson of the GTCC, expressed her thought, stating, “We thank Dr. P.T. Usha for taking the time to meet with the NSF and SOA dignitaries. Her personal commitment to the national games is empowering, and all dignitaries were delighted to share this moment with her while discussing the road ahead for upcoming events”.

The meeting envisioned the collective future of Indian sports, thus laying the foundation for joint collaboration toward excellence in national as well as international competitions.
